When Your Rug Needs More Than a Regular Clean
If you own a rug that has a stain on it or has not looked like it once did then you know the struggle that comes along with it. A great rug is not just a rug. It adds comfort to a space, brings a room together and can even hold memories older than the room. This is why The Silk and Wool Rug Cleaners exists.
We are located in Woodland Hills, CA and we have a very specific niche. We treat silk and wool rugs in a way that is appropriate. We have knowledge about these materials, patience and take the time that shows your rug is important and deserves to be treated as such instead of rushed through like every other area rug cleaning we encounter.

01
The Fibers Most Cleaners Get Wrong
Not all rugs can be treated the same and that is where most problems begin. Using the wrong products on silk fibers can cause a loss of sheen or fiber degradation. Wool fibers can shrink, mat or retain moisture after a surface clean. Many cleaning services use the same product on all rugs because it is faster and easier to standardize across all the jobs they handle.
Our area rug cleaning process is opposite to this. Before handling any rug we take the time to determine what type of rug is in front of us as well as its construction and needs. This small bit of additional effort can make a huge difference in whether or not the rug recovers from the treatment or not.
02
Area Rug Cleaning Process That Prioritizes Care Over Convenience
All of the rugs we handle undergo a full inspection before any cleaning occurs, rather than a quick inspection. We look at the fiber type, dye type, weave type and any previous work or damage that has occurred to the rug before we apply any cleaning solutions. Once we have this information we will test our cleaning method on a small section of the rug that is not noticeable before applying to the entire rug.
This ensures there are no surprises during the area rug cleaning process. Each rug is cleaned on an individual basis as opposed to using one cleaning machine setting for all rugs. We also carefully dry each rug as opposed to rushing the drying process in order to make room for the next job. This process is not the fastest way to get a rug in and out of our facility. However, this is how we take care of the rugs that you entrusted to us.

A Beginning That Is As Careful As The Cleaning Process
Allowing a stranger to take your rug for even a few days can be a big decision. That is why we try to make the beginning of the area rug cleaning process as careful as the cleaning process itself. You are welcome to ask questions regarding your specific rug prior to beginning anything with us. We will always be honest about the needs of your rug rather than what is easiest for us to handle.
Serving Area Rug Cleaning Woodland Hills and the Surrounding Areas
We serve homeowners, interior designers and collectors in Woodland Hills and the surrounding areas who are looking to have their silk and wool rugs handled by people that truly understand them. Whether your rug has been passed down to you by a family member, acquired on a trip that you still remember, or was chosen slowly over time, it deserves to be handled by someone who treats it as more than just another rug on a regular basis. We strive to treat every rug we handle in this same manner regardless of age, size or condition.
